Root Cause
The 2018 Constitutional Court ruling and the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act 7 of 2024 only protect adult use, possession, and cultivation of cannabis in a private place for private purposes; use in public, in a vehicle on a public road, in front of children or non-consenting adults, and any sale or trade of cannabis remain criminal offences, and no legal retail dispensaries exist as of this writing.
